My friend Rachel did me a huge favor and let me use her press, which let me print a block I’d had sitting on my desk for far too long.
Also, the printing class at Makers Local went swimmingly – some of the other Makers were able to pull their own shirts!

One new print, another state-of-mind relief block. I also decided to try and change things up a little and do a pen and ink drawing. I like the results, but it’s a mixed bag because I only have one and I’d hate to part with it. Hence someone will have to pay more, I suppose. For the Bovinoids I wound up doing a lot of research at peopleofwalmart.com

I took a quick picture of my next print as soon as I was finished carving the block. As soon as my brayer arrives, printing commences. There may be a parade.
I started this block just after Christmas, so it only took me about a month to carve this 18 x 24 block. I like the grain that you get with birch, but it’s kind of a pain to have to keep sharpening my tools. It’s totally worth it though.
