Thanks to Rachel setting up a studio at the Flying Monkey, I got to print a block that I’d finished over the summer. It was great to work with a press again, and there were lots of enthusiastic passersby. I look forward to them opening the print studio officially next year. I’ve got a solo exhibit there in early December, there will be details about it next week.
I also just finished my Halloween costume. I watched Dennis McNett teaching this process with larger wooden frames at last year’s Frogman’s conference and finally got to try making one of my own.

Two new pieces to show off, both made in Adobe Photoshop. A local high school asked me to do a piece for homecoming tshirts, this year they’re having a zombie dance. I hope they like the title I came up with, I’m not above dropping a pun once in awhile.
The next piece is, sadly, based on a true story. She’s real, and she’s out there somewhere.
Both pieces are purely digital, 100% Photoshop. I’ve been carving too, but it’ll be awhile before I get access to a printing press that can handle something 18×24.

I took a quick picture of my next print as soon as I was finished carving the block. As soon as my brayer arrives, printing commences. There may be a parade.
I started this block just after Christmas, so it only took me about a month to carve this 18 x 24 block. I like the grain that you get with birch, but it’s kind of a pain to have to keep sharpening my tools. It’s totally worth it though.

I want LastFM to tell me if you only listen to the Who because they’re in Rock Band.
The next print is Night of the Loving Dead, and it is 90% complete – photo impending.
